LOT PURCHASES & INTERMENT REQUESTS

Requests for lot purchases and interments are to be directed to the Kendall Town Clerk’s Office, 1873 Kendall Road, Kendall, N.Y. 14476, Phone (585-659-8721)

 

            Schedule of Charges

                        Single Plot                                                                                          $350.00

                       

                        Interment

                                    Casket                                                                                                $350.00

                                    Cremation                                                                               $150.00

                                    (Two (2) cremations allowed per plot)

 

                        Disinterment

                                    The Town of Kendall must have written consent from the lot owner or is/her

                                    legal representative or a court order.

                                    Calculation of charges will be determined on an individual basis and

                                    is subject to change.

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

--Individuals may not be compensated by the Town of Kendall for any unused or unwanted grave spaces.  Instead, heirs will have the option of relinquishing or transferring ownership either to another individual or to the Town of Kendall.   Transfer of Cemetery Lot Ownership forms are available at the Town Clerk’s office and must include the notarized signature of all known heirs to be official.  Upon death of the lot owner, it shall be the duty of their heirs or devisees to file with the Town of Kendall satisfactory proof of new ownership.  No interment can be made until such proof is given.

 

--There shall be only one interment to each plot.  There may be two (2) cremations to one plot.

 

-- There will be no interments between December 1-April 1. Storage arrangements and costs during

this non-interment period will be the responsibility of the decedent’s appointee.  Weather permitting,

exceptions may be made on an individual basis by approval of the Town Supervisor.

 

--All cemetery lots are to be used for human remains only.

 

--No interments can be made until lots are paid in full and interment fees are paid.

 

--Lot owners are requested to notify the Town Clerk’s Office of any change of address.  All notices required to be sent shall be sent to the last known address, and such notice shall be deemed adequate.

--The Town of Kendall is not liable or responsible for damage or replacement from damage to any lot or lot decorations caused by weather, natural disaster, theft, vandalism or unavoidable accidents.

 

--Use of all facilities and services are subject to the rules and regulations now in force or that may hereafter be adopted by the Town of Kendall.

 

Lot Decorations

To assure that landscape management can be maintained, the Town of Kendall must regulate the method

of decorating lots.

                                                    

--No vault or mausoleum shall be erected above ground without the prior approval of the Town of Kendall.

 

--The bases of all monuments shall be finished true and level so as to fit on foundations without wedging or sprawls.

 

--No monument is to be delivered to the cemetery until the foundation is installed and ready to receive

the monument.

 

--The placing of numerous objects on and around a grave will not be permitted. No lot or grave shall be defined by a fence, hedge, pavers or other enclosures. Placing of glass blocks or glass vases as receptacles for flowers on graves is prohibited.

 

--The planting of bushes and shrubs is not permitted.  The Town of Kendall reserves the right to remove any planting which impedes landscape management or is deemed dangerous to the public.

 

--  The Town of Kendall reserves the right to remove all flowers, wreaths or other decorations from lots as soon as they become unsightly.

 

--Flags will be placed on Veterans graves prior to Memorial Day and will be removed in mid October.

 

--All work done in the cemetery will be under the direction of the Town of Kendall.

 

Cemetery Hours

The cemetery grounds are open daily from dawn until dusk.  It is requested that proper respect and decorum be maintained when visiting.
